The tripartite aggression on Egypt 1956
It was a war fought between Egypt ,, against Israel, England and France
Every country launched the aggression had had it's own "reasons" to participate : --
1-Egypt signed an agreement with the Soviet Union required to provide Egypt with advanced weapons and sophisticated in order to strengthen the armed forces to deter Israel, knowing that signing that agreement did not come until after the refusal of Western countries to provide Egypt with arms. This raised the enthusiasm of Israel to participate in this aggression because it felt that provide Egypt with sophisticated weapons that threaten their survival.
2-Egypt's support for the Algerian revolution against French occupation and its supply of military assistance, angering France and incited to engage in aggression.
3-Nationalization of the Suez Canal announced by President Gamal Abdel Nasser on July 26, 1956. This nationalization prevent England from profiteering from the canal, which was run by the nationalization, and thus entered England in the tripartite aggression.
Israel was reassuring on some Arab countries, either because they are far from its borders or falling under the influence of the pro-Israel, or for their inability to tackle them militarily, but it was believed that Egypt after the 1952 revolution was the obstacle in the way of real ambitions. Therefore took the opportunity when it converged with the purposes of Western colonialism purposes occasion of the Government of the revolution nationalized the Suez Canal Company in July 1956. It agreed to a conspiracy with both England and France, and Israeli forces began attacking the Egyptian border in the Oct. 29, 1952. The two countries Alastamceka warned both Egypt and Israel to stop fighting to stand on their respective forces after a few miles from both sides of the Suez Canal,
Egypt rejected the warning as troops attacked the colonial English and French Canal Zone to encircle the Egyptian army in Sinai, But the Egyptians tricked them and withdrawed from Sinai to fight them in the Canal's cities ., so the Israeli army enterred and occupied Sinai with no fighting ,The Public and the Army of Egypt moltened in one man and continued to fight their enemy in Portsaid , the foriegn forces began to suffer heavy losses ,, the United Nations intervened and denounced the tripartite aggression on Egypt and demanded that the attackers to withdraw and pressed the United States for both England and France, as the Soviet Union threatened the aggressor States, in addition to the revolution of workers unemployed in England and France Against the government because of what they had been subjected to unemployment, and thus failed assault and forced the aggressor States withdraw its troops after Egypt agreed to the decision of the United Nations Emergency Force presence on the international border between Egypt and Israel, and in Sharm el-Sheikh area bordering the Gulf of Aqaba
The most important reasons for the failure of the tripartite aggression on Egypt is the intensity of the resistance and docking of the Egyptian army and people against aggression, but there are other reasons forced the three countries to withdraw quickly as follows:
1-The Soviet Union's opposition to triparite attack
2-The Soviet Union's support for Egypt and threatening military intervention to stop the aggression.
3-The Arab Support to Egypt.
The outcome of the tripartite aggression
1-The withdrawal of British forces and French in Port Said on December 23, 1956, and celebrates the province of Port Said on that day every year after evacuation forces of aggression.
2-Israel's withdrawal from Sinai in the late early in 1957, also withdrew from the Gaza Strip.
3-And put an emergency international forces along the common border between Egypt and Israel.
It's clear that Egypt didn't achieve a complete military victory, but achieved a great political victory .
